Enjoy the breathtaking view of the Arecibo Observatory in this wonderful limestone or haystack mountain (mogote) area. The observatory is accessible through off the beaten path roads until you reach the facilities in which parking is provided and a small hike up the hill to get to the entrance of the museum and the observatory itself. A 15minute movie explains the background and history of the Arecibo Observatory as well as the importance to the world of science. Lastly, you are able to head out into the balcony that looks over the dish of the radio-telescope.
