I had the pleasure to experience my first road trip with the WSD crew and it was great, fun, and exciting! The day was perfect for taking a road trip to the West side of the island because it was a sunny day with a nice temperature and overall, just a beautiful day. Our trip consisted of going to Cueva Ventana first, and then Cueva del Indio, both in Arecibo.

On our way to Arecibo, Carlos and Roberto talked about so many interesting things, it made the ride that much better. The information that they gave was really intriguing and I couldn’t believe how much I learned in such a small amount of time. When we arrived to our first destination, Cueva Ventana, we stop to have a quick snack before starting our walk towards the caves. This was my first time ever going to Cueva Ventana, so I really didn’t know what to expect. The whole Cueva Ventana experience was incredible. I learned so much about the caves, the different types of life that live there and that surrounds it, the history; but, if I have to decide which was the best part, I would definitely say that nothing beats the shockingly beautiful view at the end. I’ve always seen pictures of that specific view but nothing comes even close to being there in person and seeing it with your own eyes. During our walk, Carlos and Roberto took the time to answer any questions or doubts that I had, and also added extra information that wasn’t mentioned by the tour guide which I really appreciated.

After Cueva Ventana we headed toward the next destination, Cueva del Indio. In contrast to Cueva Ventana, I had already visited Cueva del Indio but it had been many years ago since I’ve been there. The route here was unique because we walked on top of the cave and I could see the cave from a different point of view. It was also unique since we were accompanied by a cool breeze and the majestical sight and sound of the ocean. Here I also learned a lot about the cave and the history of the place.

At the end of our trip to Cueva Ventana and Cueva del Indio we went and ate dinner and then headed back to our homes while listening to good music. The whole experience was a total pleasure, besides learning about the places that I visited I learned even more from what Carlos and Roberto taught me in those couple of hours. I am ecstatic for the next road trip and cannot wait for the next destination.
